A successful lawyer is told by his doctor that he’s terminally ill and will be dead in under two years. He decides to do all of the things for which he never had time. Each episode tells of the places he goes and the people he meets, from bums riding the rails to gigolos. He becomes a man with little fear of death, and everything but time.
Aboard a train bound from Chicago to Los Angeles, Paul shares a dining car table with an attractive nun named Veronica — but she is not what she seems, because the next time he sees her she is a smartly dressed woman on a street in Los Angeles. His attempts to find her become a murder mystery and almost lead him to his death in an encounter with the Mafia.
